Wakame (若布, わかめ)is one of many types of seaweed. It’s one of the more commonly used seaweeds for cooking and is usually used in soups and in seaweed salad.
Wakame is sold dried and should be cut into small pieces when cooking because it can expand to ten times its size when rehydrated! Wakame can usually be found in Asian grocery stores or can be bought online.
