Aonori (青海苔, あおのり) is one of the many types of seaweed used in Japanese cooking. Aonori is mainly used as a topping, such as with okonomiyaki or takoyaki. It’s very finely shredded seaweed.Aonori is pretty cheap and can be bought in ethnic grocery stores or online. If you don’t want to buy it, you can take regular nori seaweed sheets and cut it up really fine.
